Technology

Technology that makes design, production and assembly predictable.

It's not the technology that takes centre stage, but what it solves for you: fewer handovers, less execution risk and a result that matches the design.

The risk

Execution risk arises at the handovers

In traditional construction a project passes through many hands. Every handover between parties is a moment where information is lost — and where failure costs, delay and disagreement arise.

Design Structural engineer Supplier Contractor Subcontractors

Five parties, four handovers — and no one accountable for the whole.

The ZTC approach

One chain, from model to assembly

At ZTC the entire chain sits under one roof. Your model goes — via IFC — almost straight into the factory and comes out as an assembled structural shell. No handover between separate parties, so less room for error.

  1. 01

    BIM model via IFC

Your design arrives as a model, not a stack of drawings that has to be re-entered.

  2. 02

    Engineering

We develop it into a production model (LOD 400) and align every joint with you, before the freeze.

  3. 03

    CNC production

The Hundegger line mills every panel to ±1 mm — dry and climate-controlled in the factory.

  4. 04

    Quality control

Every panel passes a visual and dimensional final inspection aligned with ISO 9001 principles, with photo reporting per project.

  5. 05

    Assembly

Our own crews assemble on site: 3–5 days per storey, weathertight per block.

What it delivers for you

Result for the client

Less handover risk

One party accountable for the entire structural shell — one contract, one schedule.

Better buildability

Joints and tolerances are aligned before production; what's drawn can also be built.

More precise assembly

Milled to ±1 mm: on site everything fits first time, without rework.

More control over quality

Production in a climate-controlled factory with final inspection per panel — not out in the weather.

Clearer documentation

CE/ETA documentation, product data and photo reporting — substantiation for your structural engineer and quality assurance officer.

Under the hood

The technical systems

Timber frame

Prefabricated wall, floor and roof panels for 1–5 storeys. U-value from 0.12 W/m²K, cellulose or wood-fibre insulation, windows fitted in the factory.

CLT (cross-laminated timber)

Solid timber structures up to 8 storeys. 3-, 5- or 7-layer, max. panel 13,800 × 3,100 × 400 mm, fire resistance up to EI 120, acoustics Rw up to 65 dB, formaldehyde-free adhesive.

Hybrid

CLT core + insulated timber frame envelope — combines load-bearing capacity and thermal performance, with a more favourable cost profile than pure CLT.

CNC & engineering

Hundegger CNC production to ±1 mm, model-based engineering in SEMA with BIM exchange via IFC (LOD 400).

±1 mm
Hundegger CNC tolerance — repeatable for every home in the series
EI 30–120
Fire resistance depending on build-up; charring rate 0.65 mm/min (Eurocode 5)
n50 = 0.24
Best measured airtightness — far beyond the passive-house standard
ETA-21/0014
CE marking engineered to the Eurocodes; production aligned with ISO 9001 principles

CLT panel max. 13,800 × 3,100 × 400 mm · CE marking under ETA-21/0014, engineered to the Eurocodes · production administration aligned with ISO 9001 principles · BIM exchange via IFC, engineering at LOD 400. For Dutch sign-off we work with a Dutch structural engineer.
